While the story of the Dino Crisis video games is not always directly related, story-wise, as in, it is not always necessary to have played a previous game to understand the story of a specific game, it is suggested to play these games in the story order because there are Dino Crisis characters that appear in more than one game. Dino Crisis, Dino Crisis 2 and Dino Stalker all take place in a very approximate time. For this reason, for players looking for the best possible story experience of the Dino Crisis games, it is suggested to play these games in the story order. Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 are directly related, story-wise, while Dino Crisis 2 and Dino Stalker are closely related, story-wise.
It is unclear exactly when Dino Crisis: Dungeon in Chaos is set, or if it is set in an entirely different continuity or universe. Despite not having a clear time period in which it is set, Dino Crisis: Dungeon in Chaos features some elements that make it reasonable to include this game before Dino Crisis 3 in this chronological story order that I've written. There is no clear reason to consider Dino Crisis: Dungeon Chaos non-canon. However, it is not clear in which moment of the story continuity it is set. In my opinion, even though it is unclear when Dino Crisis: Dungeon in Chaos is set, it probably is set before Dino Crisis 3, because the game doesn't feature the "far-future" sci-fi aspects of Dino Crisis 3. Instead of the strictly sci-fi environments of Dino Crisis 3, Dino Crisis: Dungeons in Chaos features an environment that resembles that of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2. Another element is the handgun that is used in Dino Crisis: Dungeon in Chaos, which looks very much like the handguns used in Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2. For these reasons, I believe that Dino Crisis: Dungeon in Chaos can be set in a time not too distant to Dino Crisis and to Dino Crisis 2. In other words, it is possible that this game is set some years before Dino Crisis or some years after Dino Crisis, but not as distant in the future as Dino Crisis 3.

Dino Stalker is set some time after the events of Dino Crisis 2, even though the exact year in which the game takes place is not clear. For this reason, I've decided to write the year of Dino Stalker as sometime in the 2010s, which is after Dino Crisis 2, even though it is unknown exactly when.
