This is the story timeline order of the events that happen in the Legacy of Kain video games. This should not be confused with the chronological release order of these games. There is one game, Blood Omen 2, that appears twice in my chronological story order of the Legacy of Kain games, and this is not an error, there is a reason for Blood Omen 2 to appear two times in my chronological story order list, and this reason is explained in the article.
In most cases when I write a chronological story order list of video games, the best way to experience the story of the games is to play them in the chronological story order. I do not believe that this is the case for the Legacy of Kain games. In the specific case of the Legacy of Kain games, I present the chronological order of the games in this article, but I suggest to play these games in another order, which is also presented in this article, called "Suggested Order to Play the Legacy of Kain Games". The reason why there is a difference between the chronological story order and the suggested order to play is also explained in this article, and is mostly related to the chronology of Blood Omen 2.

The particular case of the chronology of Blood Omen 2 can be confusing. Chronologically, the events of Blood Omen 2 take place in an altered timeline, after Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and before Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. However, the story presented in Blood Omen 2 is only possible because of the events that happened in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, and for this reason, the story events of Blood Omen 2 would not exist if not preceded by the story events of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2, thus, making Blood Omen 2 a logical sequence to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2.
In other words, chronologically, Blood Omen 2 takes place after Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and before Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
