This is the chronological story order of the Gears of War video games. It is important to note that the chronological story order of the Gears of War games is not the same as the chronological release order of these games. For example, Gears of War: Judgement was released after Gears of War 3, but the story events of Gears of War: Judgement are set before Gears of War (2006). For this reason, the chronological release order should not be considered to necessarily be the same as the chronological story order.

Much of the chronology of Gears of War video games is related to a time mark known as E-Day. Due to this common E-Day reference present in many of these games, it is possible and reasonable to write a chronological story order of the Gears of War games that effectively organizes these different games in regards to their chronological relation to each other. In other words, this is a list in which these games are chronologically organized.

Gears of War: Judgement
Gears Tactics
Gears of War (2006) | Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
Gears of War 2
Gears of War 3
Gears of War 4
Gears of War 5 | Gears 5

Gears Pop!

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a remastered version of Gears of War (2006). While these are technically different games, they contain the same main storyline, and for this reason I included both of these games in the same entry in the chronological story order that I wrote.

Gears of War 5 is also known as Gears 5. These are two different names for the same game. I decided to include both names because some people may know the game as Gears of War 5 and some may know it as Gears 5, but it is important to know that these are the same video game.

I did not find information regarding the time period of Gears Pop!. Due to this, it would unreasonable to include Gears Pop! in my chronological story order of Gears of War games, as I do not know its chronological relation to the other Gears of War games. For this reason, I decided to place it separately to the other Gears of War games.

The Story Timeline Order of Gears of War Games

In general, time in Gears of War video games is usually related to a time mark known as Emergence Day, often referred to as E-Day. It is important to mention that the years in this timeline I wrote are fictional years, and not related to years in real time. In other words, these could be called "years in Gears of War games timeline", "years in the Gears of War universe" or "years of the Gears of War games storyline".

0 Gears of War: Judgement
1 Gears Tactics
14 Gears of War (2006) | Gears of War: Ultimate Edition
14 Gears of War 2
16 Gears of War 3
41 Gears of War 4

?? Gears Pop!

Unfortunately, I was not able to find information regarding the time period of the game Gears Pop!, and for this reason, I cannot estimate its placement in my chronologiacl story order of Gears of War video games. Considering that I do not know its time period, it would be unreasonable to assume a placement for this game either before or after other specific Gears of War games, as this would be a guess and not an informed decision. For this reason, I placed Gears Pop! separately in relation to the timeline that I wrote.
