The Best Classes of Tree of Savior for New Players
Tree of Savior is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game), and could also be described as an online action RPG (ARPG). Considering that classes in Tree of Savior have skill trees, and that there are multiple classes to choose from, new players and beginners may wonder what is the best class to start playing the game and to learn the game. While all classes are fun to play and viable, some classes may be easier for new players and provide a better experience for beginners. In this article, I wrote a list of the easiest classes to play in Tree of Savior, especially during the beginning of the game. There are some tier lists of best classes of Tree of Savior that only consider the latest changes to these classes with recent patches. While these tier lists make sense for those players who want to benefit from the latest changes, these tier lists do not make much sense for new players who simply want to know the easiest and best classes to start in Tree of Savior. Quite often, the changes in these patches reflect balancing the game, and you may see changes like "bonus damage of 10%" changed to "bonus damage of 5%". For this reason, instead of writing a tier list based on latest changes, I wrote a list with the best and easiest classes for new players of Tree of Savior, based on the gameplay of these classes, which does not change after each patch. In RPGs (role-playing games), classes are a traditional aspect, often defining the gameplay style of the character. In many RPGs, classes define which skills are available to the character, as well as the weapons that will be used throughout the video game. New players who are starting in Tree of Savior may consider choosing some of classes that are the most beginner-friendly, which will provide an easier experience starting in this MMORPG.
The best classes of Tree of Savior for new players are Scout, Archer and Swordsman, because they are the easiest to play and do not require previous experience.
In order to create a selection of the best classes of Tree of Savior for new players and beginners, I evaluated the easiness of playing with each class, how much previous experience with RPG each class requires, and how many healing items or support each class requires. For example, the Cleric class, which could be easy for new players to learn, may require the presence of other melee or range-based characters in order to perform well, a reason why I did not include this class in this list. The Wizard class, for example, while being able to deal high amounts of damage, greatly requires the strategic use of its skills, which could be more complex for beginners than a strictly basic attack-based class such as Scout and Swordsman, which, while having skills, are also effective if only their basic attacks are used, a reason why they are more suited for new players.
3 - Scout
The Scout class is a very interesting choice for new players of Tree of Savior. Characters of this class have a high evasion rate and high critical rates, being able to deal considerable amounts of damage to monsters. Due to its high evasion rate, this class does not need as many healing items as other melee classes, such as the Swordsman, a reason why it is an excellent choice to start in Tree of Savior. However, due to its evasion-based combat style, which can require of the player some experience in RPGs and especially when targeting groups of enemies, I did not place this class higher in my list. At the same time, players who have previously played other RPGs or MMORPGs may find the Scout class as a very versatile and effective character class in Tree of Savior to begin in the game, especially considering the fact that characters of this class rely much less on healing items than other classes. Skilled RPG and MMORPG players will be able to precisely time the skills of this class with SP regeneration, while also strategically targeting enemies in order to make the most use of the high evasion and high critical rates of this class. For these reasons, the Scout class is undoubtedly one of the best choices for new players and beginners in Tree of Savior.
Due to the high evasion rate and high critical rate of Scout class characters, this class is not only a good class to start in the game due to its effective combat abilities, but also because this class will not require as much high-tier equipment such as other classes in order to perform well in combat. Scout characters have natural higher evasion and critical rates than other classes, and for this reason, can benefit from their evasion rates in order to use take less damage.
2 - Archer
The Archer class is an excellent choice for new players and beginners of Tree of Savior because this class is able to deal a high amount of damage, while also keeping distance from monsters. If the player has previously played other RPGs or MMORPGs, then the player will also be able to strategically position their character in order to take the less damage from monsters and using the most distance possible to deal damage. For players who have not previously played other RPGs or MMORPGs, effectively positioning their Archer character may take some practice at first, but will certainly reward the player throughout the game with a more effective leveling experience, and also an easier experience while fighting stronger monsters and bosses.
Due to the distance with which Archer characters are able to deal damage and defeat monsters, this class is also useful for quickly gaining experience and leveling. Moreover, in Tree of Savior, Archer characters are able to move during attacks and have a higher movement speed than other characters, which is one more reason why these characters can position themselves strategically in order to deal damage to monsters while keeping a safe distance. At the same time, playing with an Archer character could be more complex than playing with a strictly melee character, such as a Swordsman, since Archer characters must be constantly mindful of their distance to targets. Due to this positioning requirement, I did not place the Archer class higher in this list.
1 - Swordsman
The Swordsman is a powerful melee class in Tree of Savior, and also a class that is quite simple to learn, a reason why it is an excellent choice for beginners and new players of Tree of Savior. A strictly melee class, the Swordsman class has a considerable amount of defense for physical attacks and is able to deal high amounts of damage through melee attacks. While the Swordsman class has skills such as the other classes, this class is quite easy to learn how to play throughout the game, and does not require as much strategic positioning as the Archer class, or strategic targeting as the Scout class. In my opinion, the Swordsman class is one of the easiest to be learned, a reason why it is my most suggested class for new players and beginners of Tree of Savior.
While the Swordsman class is able to sustain high amounts of damage and deal high amounts of damage through their melee attacks, characters of this class do not have a mobility as high as Archer characters, for example. For this reason, players who choose this class must be mindful that, in general, if they enter a fight, they will not be able to get out of the fight as quickly as an Archer character. Thus, while Swordsman character can sustain more damage than other characters of classes, they are less mobile than Archer characters, and it is important to keep this factor in mind when targeting monsters and especially groups of monsters.
