The Best Classes of Tree of Savior for Playing Solo
Tree of Savior is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) in which the player character is able to fight and defeat monsters and complete quests in order to gain experiece and level up. Since Tree of Savior is an MMORPG, it can be played online together with other players. However, some players prefer to play alone in their adventures, which in the online games community is sometimes called "playing solo". Players who decide to play solo must choose character classes that allow them to defeat monsters and easily and that also do not require as much support from support classes. Players who are used to playing single player RPGs (role-playing games) often prefer to play MMORPGs solo. Likewise, there are players who like to enjoy the content of multiplayer video games without requiring the support of additional characters or parties of characters. For these players, playing with a solo class is a strategic choice in order to enjoy the video game independently.
The best classes of Tree of Savior for playing solo are Wizard, Archer, Scout and Swordsman, as these classes are able to fight and defeat monsters without the assistance of additional characters. Later, excellent choices are Outlaw, Ranger and Assassin, as they also perform quite well in PvE.
In general, the good classes for playing solo are the ones that allow players to sustain high amounts of damage or evade it while also being able to inflict high amounts of damage. Skills that deal AoE (area-of-effect) damage are also very important for playing solo because they allow players to fight and defeat multiple enemies at the same time, speeding up the process of gaining experience and leveling up. In general, the best classes for playing Tree of Savior solo are the classes that are able to deal high damage and also sustain or evade enemy damage, effectivelly allowing these classes to fight monsters without the assistance of other characters. In general, these classes are able to deal damage either through melee attacks, ranged attacks, or magical attacks (spells). Classes not so effective to play solo would be support classes such as classes that focus on healing other characters. Quite often, tier lists of the best classes of Tree of Savior only consider the latest changes made to classes by recent patches and minor changes in the game. In this article, instead of writing a tier list based on latest changes, I wrote a list of the best classes based on the gameplay of these classes, and on what their skills do, factors that do not change after each patch.
Rank 1 Classes
As previously stated, these are the starting classes in Tree of Savior. This is the class that is chosen during the time of character creation in the game. It is important to choose a class that is adequade for playing solo at the start of the game, as the starting class will define which classes will be available to the game character throughout the video game. In Tree of Savior, almost all the starting classes can be played solo, with the exception of the Cleric class, which would be only class that I really do not recommend for players who want to play Tree of Savior solo. While it is possible to play the Cleric class solo, the experience could be more challenging than if a damage-dealing class were chosen, such as a Wizard, a Scout, an Archer or a Swordsman.
4 - Wizard
The Wizard is an interesting choice at the start of Tree of Savior, because this class is able to deal Area-of-Effect (AoE) damage. Even though other classes in Tree of Savior have AoE attacks, the Wizard class is able to attack a larger number of enemies. Wizard characters have a variety of skills to deal damage, and can deal damage through distance. On the other hand, Wizard characters can be quite vulnerable if enemies are able to close the distance, thus requiring a good positioning from the player. For this reason, why Wizard characters are great for playing solo, they may require of the player either some previous experience with RPGs or MMORPGs, or some pratice. At the same time, Wizard class characters are able to choose quite interesting classes later in the game, including classes that allow the player character to summon monsters as allies, a reason why this class is a very interesting choice for playing solo. However, due to the higher complexity of playing with a Wizard character than playing with either an Archer character, a Scout character or a Swordsman character, I did not place the Wizard class higher in this list of rank 1 classes of Tree of Savior for playing solo.
3 - Archer
The Archer is an excellent choice for playing Tree of Savior solo, because this class is able to deal high amounts of damage while also having a high mobility. Due to its high mobility, the Archer class is able to continually position themselves strategically in order to attack enemy monsters while also keeping a safe distance. At the same time, this constant positioning that is required of the player may present an initial challenge to some players who are unexperienced with RPGs or MMORPGs. For these players, some practice with this character will certainly bring rewards throughout the game, as the Archer class is one of the best choices for playing Tree of Savior solo, especially considering the more advanced classes that will become available to Archer characters later in the game.
While the Archer class may be an initial challenge to players who do not know yet how to position their game characters well for fighting monsters, it is very rewarding to learn how to play with this class as it is both versatile and effective for playing Tree of Savior solo, and some of the later classes available to Archer characters are also excellent choices for playing solo.
2 - Scout
The Scout is one of the best choices for playing Tree of Savior solo, because this class has a high evasion rate and also a high critical rate, allowing characters of this class to deal high amounts of damage without the need of as many healing items as other melee classes, such as the Swordsman. Moreover, in my opinion, the Scout class is easier to learn how to play than the Wizard class or the Archer class. For these reasons, the Scout class is an excellent choice for starting class for playing Tree of Savior solo.
While the Scout class has many benefits for playing solo, it also requires some strategic targeting of monsters, and in my opinion, requires more strategy than playing with a Swordsman character. Due to these reasons, while the Scout class is an excellent starting class for playing Tree of Savior solo, I did not place it higher in this list, as the Swordsman class is easier to learn.
1 - Swordsman
The Swordsman class is a strictly melee-based class of Tree of Savior. Swordsman character can sustain high amounts of damage and also deal high amounts of damage, being able to effectively fight and defeat groups of multiple enemies and bosses. Moreover, the Swordsman class is quite easy to learn how to play, and does not require a positioning as strategic as of Wizard and Scout class, and also does not require a targeting as strategic as of the Scout class. For these reasons, the Swordsman is an excellent choice of starting class for playing Tree of Savior solo, as this class also does not necessarily need as much support in order to fight tough monsters, groups of multiple monsters and even bosses.
While the Swordsman class is easier to learn how to play than the Scout class, the Archer class and the Wizard class, its easiness of gameplay also means that this class may have less versatility than these other classes, at least regarding the gameplay of the starting class (as more advanced classes available to Swordsman characters have higher versatility). In other words, Swordsman characters do not have the same mobility as Archer characters when fighting monsters, and they do not have the same evasion rate as Scout characters, or the ability to deal damage from a distance such as Archer and Wizard characters. The Swordsman class is easy to learn how to play, but on the other hand, does not have the same versatility as the other starting classes. Nonetheless, the Swordsman class is one of the best starting classes in Tree of Savior for playing solo because characters of this class can sustain high amounts of damage, deal high damage, and fight and defeat many of the monsters of Tree of Savior without requiring assistance or support of other game characters. Besides the easiness of this class for playing solo, the Swordsman class is also easy to learn. For these reasons, I consider the Swordsman class the best starting class, or rank 1 class, of Tree of Savior for playing solo, for most players. More advanced and experienced players could benefit more from the other starting classes, depending on their gameplay preferences and previous experience with other RPGs and MMORPGs.
Rank 2 Classes
While there are many rank 2 classes available to game characters of Tree of Savior, the best classes for playing solo will inevitably be the classes that are more suited to fighting and defeating monsters without requiring much assistance or support. For this reason, these classes will usually be damage-dealing classes, rather than support classes, healing classes, or classes that focus on debuffing enemy targets. In this list of the best rank 2 classes of Tree of Savior for playing solo, I included melee classes, ranged classes and spellcaster classes. I also included rank 2 classes of all starting classes of Tree of Savior. In other words, in this list, I included rank 2 classes of Priest, Wizard, Archer, Scout and Swordsman.
10 - Krivis
The Krivis class, available to Priest characters of Tree of Savior, is perhaps one of the classes with the steepest learning curves of this list. However, players who want to play with Priest character may consider this rank 2 class as it is a viable class for playing solo, due to its many buff skills, including one skill that allows the game character to ignore some of the enemy target's Defense while attacking, which is the Divine Stigma skill.
Krivis characters are able to buff themselves and debuff enemies, while also dealing considerable amounts of damage to enemies. However, the variety of skills of this class will require of the player some practice, a reason why I did not include this class higher in this list. Moreover, while playing solo with Krivis characters is viable, it could be more challenging than playing, for example, with a Druid character, which is another rank 2 class available to Priest characters.
9 - Outlaw
The Outlaw class is a rank 2 class available to Scout characters. Unlike other classes, the Outlaw is able to use many different weapons, and due to the versatility of the Outlaw's skills, characters of this class are able to deal with many different situations in the game when fighting enemy monsters.
At the same time, precisely due to the versatility of the Outlaw's skills, this class presents a steeper learning curve than another rank 2 class availble to Scout characters, which is the Assassin. For this reason, I did not place the Outlaw class higher in this list.
8 - Druid
The Druid class, available to Priest characters of Tree of Savior, can be used for playing the game solo, due to skills of Druid characters allowing them to transform into different creatures. Perhaps one of the most useful skills of the Druid is the ability to transform into a wolf, through the Lycanthrophy skill. This skill is especially useful because it allows the Druid character to recover HP (health points) while on this form.
On the other hand, the Druid class is available to Priest characters, and the Priest class is not one of the easiest classes to be played solo. For this reason, deciding to play with the Druid class could be a challenge during the early stages of the game. Moreover, learning and being proficient at the different Druid skills and forms could require some practice of the player, presenting a steeper learning curve than other classes.
7 - Highlander
The Highlander class allows characters of this class to use a variety of crowd control skills, which, while often being regarded as support skills, can be useful for playing solo when fighting groups of enemy monsters. Highlander characters have various skills that inflict damage on enemies.
While Highlander characters have a variety of skills, with some having crowd control effects and others being more speficifically-targeted, playing with this class does not require a learning curve as steep as some other classes in this list, and the skills of Highlander characters can effectively be used for playing Tree of Savior solo.
6 - Sorcerer
The Sorcerer class in an excellent choice for playing Tree of Savior solo, because this class is able to summon demons to fight alongside the game character. This is especially important for players who want to play solo, because having more allies on their side is always useful when fighting enemy monsters, and also during boss fights and when fighting groups of enemy monsters.
On the other hand, while the Sorcerer is able to summon allied demons, the effective use of the Sorcerer skills can require some practice and could present an initial challenge to some players. For this reason, it could be said that the Sorcerer has a steeper learning curve than other classes. For this reason, I did not place the Sorcerer higher in this list.
5 - Pyromancer
The Pyromancer class, available to Wizard characters, is a very interesting choice for playing Tree of Savior solo because characters of this class are able to use a variety of fire spells to damage enemies and groups of enemies, making it excellent for playing solo.
Another characteristic of the Pyromancer class is its focus on fire-based damage spells, which results in an easier learning curve for this class than the one of the Sorcerer, a reason why this class could require less practice of the player for effectively playing solo, when compared to the Sorcerer class. On the other hand, the lack of summoned demons, which are available to Sorcerer characters, will require of the Pyromancer character a more strategic positioning when fighting enemy monsters and groups of enemy monsters.
4 - Hunter
Hunter class characters of Tree of Savior are able to fight enemies alongside companies, which is quite useful when playing solo. The combined strength of Hunter characters and their companions is especially important when playing solo, and allows characters of this class to fight and defeat many different enemy monsters.
At the same time, considering that Hunter characters fight alongisde companions, and that many of their skills aim at this combined fighting style, the Hunter class presents a steeper learning curve than the Ranger, which is another rank 2 class available to Archer characters of Tree of Savior. For this reason, I did not place the Hunter class higher in this list.
3 - Barbarian
The Barbarian class, while not having as many crowd control skills as the Highlander class, has more damage-focused skills, including one skill that increases the character's attack speed and attack damage, which is of high importance when playing solo.
While the Barbarian class is generally more focused on fighting and defeating enemies on at a time, this is an effective class for playing Tree of Savior solo because of its many different skills that either increase attack damage, attack speed or deal damage to enemies.
2 - Ranger
The Ranger class of Tree of Savior is a direct evolution of the traditional fighting style of the Archer class, retaining its ranged-attack style while also perfecting it through new skills. While Ranger characters are able to deal high amounts of damage from a distance and have a variety of skills for inflicting damage, in general these skills are aimed at single targets, not AoE (area-of-effect) skills.
Due to the focus of the Ranger class in attacking single targets, this class also has an easier learning curve than some of the other classes. Considering that Ranger characters can effectively deal high amounts of damage, while also staying far away from enemies, this class is an excellent choice for playing Tree of Savior.
1 - Assassin
The Assassin class is an excellent choice for playing Tree of Savior solo, and, in my opinion, one of the best classes for playing solo, because this classes retains all of the advantages of the Scout class, while also having skills that focus on dealing damage or increasing the attack speed.
While the Assassin class may require some practice, I consider its learning curve in line with the learning curve of the Scout class, and its skills are focused on dealing damage to enemies or increasing attack speed, a reason why this class is very strategic for playing solo.
