The Queue Times of Vainglory
Vainglory is a multiplayer action video game, belonging to the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) subgenre. Vainglory features a variety of game modes, and considering that it is a multiplayer action video game, it is quite important to find other players in order to enjoy the game modes provided by Vainglory.
Vainglory features different game modes, including Casual 5v5, Ranked 5v5, Blitz, Aral, Ranked 3v3, Practice, Solo Bots and Tutorial. Each of these game modes is associated with a different number of players. For example, a Casual 5v5 battle requires 10 players (5 in each team), while a Ranked 3v3 battle requires 6 players (3 in each team).
In order to find the shortest queue times to play Vainglory, it is important to consider how many players are required for the specific game mode, and also at what time of the day the game is being played, as in certain times of day, more or less people will be available to play the game. These factors will be explained in this article.
Why Are Queue Times Taking Too Long in Vainglory?
Depending on the time of day you are playing Vainglory, certain queue times may take longer, also depending on the chosen game mode. For example, if you are playing the game at 12 AM, which is a time when often there are not as many players available, and if you are queueing for a 5v5 battle, then it is likely you are going to have to wait longer.
In general, queue times take longer if the player is queueing at a downtime (such as 12 AM) or for a game mode that requires a higher number of players (such as Casual 5v5 or Ranked 5v5).
If your queue times are taking very long, such as 15 minutes, 30 minutes and so on, then chances are there are not enough players queuing for that game mode in order to complete a match (in other words, the required number of players for each team). Instead of queuing for that game mode, it would be better, time-wise, to queue for game modes that require a lower amount of players, such as Ranked 3v3, which only requires 6 total players, as opposed to Casual 5v5 or Ranked 5v5, which require 10 total players.
What Are the Shortest Queue Times of Vainglory?
While queuing for Casual 5v5 or Ranked 5v5 can take more minutes, especially depending at the time of day when the player is queueing, some modes have a faster queue, such as Ranked 3v3. While the queue for Casual 5v5 can take many minutes, the queue for Ranked 3v3 can sometimes last as long as 30 seconds, or 1 minute, especially if the game is being played after 1 PM.
If you want fast and short queue times, it is best to play Ranked 3v3 matches, rather than Casual 5v5 or Ranked 5v5, which require a higher amount of players, and for this reason their queues take longer.
What Are the Best Times to Queue in Vainglory?
In my experience, the best times to queue in Vainglory are between 9 AM and 11 AM, and between 1 PM and 11 PM. Of these two time periods, the busiest time period, which would be the one with the fastest queues and the most people, is the second one, between 1 PM and 11 PM, with an increased amount of people after 3 PM, and an even larger amount of people after 6 PM. In other words, if you want the fastest queue times in Vainglory, play after 6 PM.
How do I Know How Much It Is Going to Take to Queue in Vainglory?
While Vainglory provides estimates to the queue time, these estimates are not always accurate. At one point, estimates were locked at > 5 minutes while some queue times were taking 30 seconds. For this reason, do not consider the estimates to be the set in stone. Instead, follow the advice of this article: if your queue time is taking too long, consider switching the game mode you are queueing for, prioritizing game modes that require a lower amount of players, such as Ranked 3v3.
Why Have I Returned to the Queue Screen After Going to the Hero Selection Screen?
If you successfully queued and reached the hero selection screen, and after that you returned to the main menu, don't be discouraged. What probably happened is that one of the players did not select a hero or dropped out of the match, but chances are that the remaining players will start queueing soon after. For this reason, you will likely queue faster this time.
Queueing Tips for Vainglory
If you are queueing for longer than 10 minutes, it could be best to change the game mode you are queueing for. Depending on the time of day and the game mode you chose, it could be more difficult to find the required amount of players to complete the match. Some game modes, such as Ranked 3v3, require a lower amount of players (6 total players) than other game modes (such as Casual 5v5 and Ranked 5v5, which require 10 total players), and for this reason the queue times of these game modes tend to be faster.
You are only queueing if you see a timer, counting the time you have been queuing. If you don't see the timer, then you are not queueing. In this case, click on "Cancel" and then clikc to start queuing.
Some game modes are more popular than other. For example, while Blitz and Aral have players, for years Vainglory has been known as a 3v3 MOBA, a reason why many players still play Vainglory for its traditional Ranked 3v3 game mode, which often has players.
Is There Anything I Can Do to Speed Queue Times Up in Vainglory?
The queue times depend on the number of available players that are also queueing for the same game mode you selected. The only thing players can do to speed up queue times in Vainglory is to select game modes that are popular and that require a lower amount of players, such as Ranked 3v3, and to try to play at certain times of day when there are more people playing, such as after 3 PM and after 6 PM.
